Our Compounding Specialists have the ability to create a prescription formulation that specifically meets a patient’s unique needs.

What is Compounding?

The art of customizing medications to fit individual needs.  Standard methods of delivery, dosage strength or taste can be altered to avoid gastric distress, increase blood levels, prevent or decrease adverse (side) effects, or simply make a more palatable product.

Medications can be formulated for patients with allergies to dyes or preservatives found in manufactured drugs.

Medications can be formulated to taste better using flavoring techniques available through pharmaceutical compounding.

Medications can be formulated for patients who are unable to swallow such as lozenges, transdermal gels, and/or suppositories.

Meets Patient’s Needs

Compounding  allows a specialist to create custom tailored medicines in order to meet the needs of all patients.  Many medications have limited strengths and dosage forms which do not always meet the needs of patients.  But compounding of pharmaceuticals enables us to prepare unique formulations in different dosage forms as ordered by a physician.

Patients will be more compliant in taking their medication because they will know that the strength and dosage form was prepared specifically for them
